Seashell Sonnet- Opus One

A collage of seashells paired with an original poem about them and all mounted on an uneven wood slat plaque. Neutral in color, the plaque, which imitates shiplap, acts as the perfect backdrop to enhance the seashells and the poem. The piece is colorful despite the neutral wood and the usual neutral color of seashells. These particular seashells present a lot of variation in size, color, and pattern which lend themselves to an interesting design.

The poem is original. It came to mind during an early morning walk on the beach. To me, it was very poetic watching the waves come and deposit some seashells, while erasing footprints, seeming to take them out to sea on the waves. It was rhythmic just like a poem.
